I've been building since 2008 and bring a wealth of experience to every project. As your primary point of contact on-site, I ensure smooth communication and project coordination. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the business, I serve as foreman, overseeing subtrades, materials, and workflow. I am dedicated to setting high standards and fostering a strong company culture, ensuring quality craftsmanship and efficiency on every job.

I'm Jess, Kyle's wife and I do administration behind the scenes for Baird Built. When I am not working I am a busy mum of three (soon to be four!), involved with local preschooler activities like Mainly Music and Playcentre. I enjoy our local community and the way Baird Built enables us to connect and be a part of it.

With over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, Jason is a highly skilled carpenter and a key leader on the team. As Leading Hand, he takes charge of the carpentry crew, ensuring smooth workflows, tackling on-site challenges, and maintaining the highest quality standards. When Kyle is off-site, Jason keeps the project running seamlessly, ensuring progress stays on track.

Jason finds great satisfaction in building from the ground up, bringing projects to life with skill and precision.

Outside of work, he enjoys hunting and fishing—whether it’s out at sea, in the hills, or anywhere in between. Being part of a family-run business close to home makes his work even more rewarding.

Fred brings over 30 years of hands-on building experience, with a career that’s taken him from residential housing in Hamilton to commercial projects in Whanganui, and then across the country picking up diverse work in towns large and small. For the past two decades, he’s been based in Mangaweka, focusing on renovations, farm building maintenance, and facility work for the New Zealand Defence Force.

Fred thrives on the challenge of renovation work — finding practical solutions for complex problems and breathing new life into existing structures. He values being part of the Baird Built team for its high standards, integrity, and the solid crew environment.

Outside of building, Fred serves his community as a volunteer firefighter and enjoys the rhythm of rural life.
